Hello, I'm Indigo and this is my video game walkthrough blog. I'm not amazing but I try my best. I mostly do rpg's because faster paced games are more difficult to screenshot, but that's mostly what I play to begin with so it works out well. Games are mostly going to be Nes/Snes/Gameboy/Gameboy Advance. I hope what I've done can be helpful!

Final Fantasy II: Dawn of Souls (Part 3)

But it's so faaaaaar.

Rest in Salamand if you need to (you probably do, that dungeon was a bit long) and then go back to Poft. The flight to Kashuan keep isn't exactly cheap, but walking the very long distance would be nothing more than boring and annoying since you are likely so far above these same old enemies you've been fighting since Altair.

Go inside the castle and use the Goddess' Bell on the door at the north end. Head through to find someone waiting.

It's Prince Gordon, the cowardly brother of Prince Scott (the dead guy who was in love with Princess Hilda, if you forgot). If no one else is using them, you can give him the Mythril Spear and Mythril Shield from the last dungeon. You can use any spare tomes on him as well. When you get to the next floor head south and get the Cure Tome. Go back to the stairs, go all the way left (ignore the empty room) and down. Take the stairs.

At the first split in the path go down, then right. As you head up you'll find a chest with 500 gil. Keep going and take the next stairs. Follow the path until it opens up a bit but ignore the first path downward. The second one leads to a Golden Shield protected by some Wererats. Take the last path to the stairs.

On this floor head down a bit and then left, ignoring the first door and going in the second. The chests here have; a Mythril Axe, a Werebuster (Mace) and a Mythril Sword. From here go up, left (ignore the door), down, and up the stairs. On the next floor take the right-hand path leading up, then go all the way right and into the room. The chests here have; a Mallet, an Antidote, and Eye Drops. Go down and then left to the middle of the room to get the Golden Armor guarded by some Mine enemies. Go down and left and take the next set of stairs.

Go into the room on this floor to find an enemy.

As you can see, the Red Soul absorbs most magic. Physical attacks won't be all that effective either but since they're your only option anyway, just keep hacking away at it. If you got a Fire Bow from Flynn that will help, its damage doesn't get absorbed. If any of your team members have Shell have them cast it at the start of the battle because Red Soul casts many spells of its own. Esuna is also helpful.

After the battle open the chest for the Egil's Torch and then teleport out of the dungeon. Go back in and inspect the brazier, selecting the Egil's Torch to obtain the Sunfire. Now you can leave the keep for real. You'll see a scene with Cid's airship being chased by the Dreadnought. Afterward head directly south into a small clearing in the forest and you'll enter the Chocobo Forest. Interact with the bird inside and then mount it on the world map to speed back to Paloom with no random encounters. From there continue to Altair.

You can talk to the people around Altair if you wish, and you'll learn that Princess Hilda has been kidnapped by the empire and that the Dreadnought has gone somewhere north of Flynn. It's gone so far north, in fact, that we come out on the south end of the map. Board the Dreadnought.

You can show the guard here your Pass or you can just let him know you're a rebel and defeat him. All the other guards here will attack you if you talk to them at all, they're the same high-damage-dealing Captain enemies that roam throughout Flynn. Go up the steps in the main room and go all the way left for a chest with 500 gil. Go all the way right and start going down. When the path splits go right and then go up into the room and take the stairs.

When the path opens up go down and left first and get the Dark Bow in the corner, then to the right of that is a chest with Thief's Gloves. To the right of that is the cell where Princess Hilda and Cid are being held (simply inspect the gate to unlock it), so speak with them next. To the right of their cell are two chests with a Hi-Potion and Potion. Go all the way back and upstairs, then go all the way south in the main room and take the stairs down.

Make your way around the large room and into the room and take the stairs down again. In another large room, make your way to the top-right side where you will find a line of chests. From left to right they contain; a Trident, a Main Gauche, an Ice Shield (protected by a Magician and Hill Gigas), and a Giant's Helm. Then go to the middle of the room and take the stairs.

Make your way into another large room where many guards stand blocking off certain routes. The path is pretty simple, but nonethless;

From the stairs go up, then left, then down until a guard blocks your path and go right, down, and continue right.

Go up, right, up, left, and make your way down to the middle of the room and go through the door. Inspect the ship's engine and select the Sunfire, you'll automatically end up back in Altair. Go to the king's room to view a scene where he will pass away. Gordon will leave your party, but go speak to him in the throne room to learn the key words Dragoon and Wyvern.

Go to Paloom and talk to this woman, she'll offer to give you a ride to Deist on her ship. Once you board the ship it will automatically sail out into the ocean and then you will be attacked by 8 Pirates but they're not too tough.

Like when we went to the Drednought, you'll have to sail south until you come out on the north end of the math to get to Castle Deist, but that's where I'm going to leave off this section. We'll continue our search for the Dragoons in the next section.
