Hello, I'm Indigo and this is my video game walkthrough blog. I'm not amazing but I try my best. I mostly do rpg's because faster paced games are more difficult to screenshot, but that's mostly what I play to begin with so it works out well. Games are mostly going to be Nes/Snes/Gameboy/Gameboy Advance. I hope what I've done can be helpful!

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story (Part 5)

Well I should hope so, since I won and all. Well, Bron will come in and give us our new Sword Technique and then leave. Hmm, he seems a bit preoccupied. I guess we'll find out what's going on later, for now just forge the new weapon and Ariel's Drill if you have enough materials left over.

And so the truth comes out. Our mother certainly is a popular lady, isn't she? Ah well. Tell Bron that you'd like to go right away and after some dialogue you will get the Delivery. Off we go on a grand adventure.

First, head back to the Silver Guild and talk to the guy near the northeast corner of the first floor to get a free Silturn Water. Go southwest from the guild to the house on the water and talk to the woman inside. Give her Ariel's Drill and she will give you your first Technique of the day. Next go to the port and talk to the man there, then go to the cat house and speak to the husband (not the old man). Tell him about the man at the port and you will get your second Technique.

Head over to the Central Tower now. Take the door on the left to the second floor, then again to the third floor, then again to our destination. Head up into the main part of the house and watch the scene.

I don't know what Bron was talking about, this guy seems very nice! He does send us out on another fetch quest, but oh well. We haven't received our next match notice yet, so at least we have something to do now.

Go to the labyrinth and you will receive the Bestiary before you enter. Teleport to the 11th floor. Go down the stairs and enter the room to the west (not the north door that leads to the 18th floor). Once in here you will meet the same woman we've seen a few times now. After the dialogue go through the door to the northeast and proceed down several staircases. Eventually you will encounter a treasure chest which contains a Conductor Rod.

On the next floor, just go around breaking the barrels and then make your way to the stairs on the north side (approached from the west). On the level after that, do much the same, this time coming in from the east. Note there is a room in the northeast corner of this floor with a bunch of breakable items and also a secret room near the staircase that holds a Klotzen Potion. There's nothing of interest on the next floor, so just go southeast to the stairs.

In the next section of the dungeon there is a secret room right beside the entrance which contains two Kicker Potions. There is a room in the northwest corner which contains an Amulet and another Kicker Potion. The next floor is split into three diagonal sections - the middle one has a chest which contains a Klotzen Potion and the leftmost one leads to the boss.

This boss hits pretty hard, but isn't really a big challenge as long as you've got a Spear weapon with you. When it lifts itself up off the screen, it is going to stab down at you with its arms - they will come down one at a time, once each on each side of its shadow (a little bit out from it) and then one more right on the edges of the shadow. To avoid it just stay back. Other than that, its only two attacks hit you at close range so stay back as much as possible. If you get cornered, knock it away with one of your guardian beast's spells. When you defeat it you will get the Dragon Fang Ore.

Now we have to leave the labyrinth. We're not even allowed to continue further so we can activate the next teleporter... laaaame. Anyway, on your way out of the labyrinth you will meet the mysterious woman again and she will give you the Western Sword. Return to your workshop and forge some new weapons if you wish, and save your progress. Then return to the old man on Wystern's upper level. Turns out he's not home, but simply go south to locate him.

Gee, I bet they want swords.

Bingo. Anyway, we find out the true identity of the old man here and apparently he doesn't feel like dealing with the nuisance, so it's up to us to get rid of the soldiers. That's just fine with me.

This guy is much more reluctant to block than your previous opponents, but that's just fine. He don't give you a technique for breaking his weapons anyway, just a First Aid Kit. It's a pretty good healing item but I never really use them. You do have the advantage here though, since it's not a tournament match and you can still have 3 weapons equipped. Feel free to just beat the crap out of them if you prefer.

And surprisingly, that's it for day 5! A bit anti-climactic I suppose, but it is what it is. Choose who you'd like to visit as usual, then away we go to day 6!

Side-note: I wonder why you never get Rondeau or Amariss as options for people to visit... hmmm...

  1. Err... How do we use that bestiary and link mode?

  2. The bestiary you can use by opening the menu and going to "list" and it is one of the sections in there, I don't remember if it's available right at the beginning or if you have to progress to a certain point.

For using any link features on an emulator though I've only seen methods that are really complicated. You have to download a specific version of the emulator called "vbalink" and then you need to run two emulators at the same time, but they can't share a save file so you need to play two completely separate games. There may be other methods though, that's just the one I know about :)
