Hello, I'm Indigo and this is my video game walkthrough blog. I'm not amazing but I try my best. I mostly do rpg's because faster paced games are more difficult to screenshot, but that's mostly what I play to begin with so it works out well. Games are mostly going to be Nes/Snes/Gameboy/Gameboy Advance. I hope what I've done can be helpful!

LoZ: Link's Awakening DX (Part 7)

Hello, let's go collect some more stuff. First swim west to a cave where you'll find a giant fish - he'll teach you your second Ocarina song, Manbo's Mambo.

East of the Angler's Tunnel is a small cave, the inside of which is filled with deep water. Dive down near this spot here and get a Piece of Heart (4/4). This will give you your second extra heart container. Swim south from here and get yourself back to the small field (I guess?) with the warp portal and the keyhole that we used to open the fourth dungeon. Continue west along the southern path until you reach a screen with a bomber, as well as some steps leading back down into the water. Take these.

Follow the lake (or whatever it is) west and eventually south along the border of Kanalet Castle. Dive down around this spot and you will find a Piece of Heart. (1/4). Unfortunately you will now have to swim all the way back to land, so when you go back up the steps take the warp near to Animal Village. You will no doubt have a ghost following you by this point, but don't worry. It won't hurt you or anything. The guy wants to go to his house, which we will do after a few small events.

In the village go to the northeast screen and into the left house to talk to the goat lady here. She will take your hibiscus and give you a Letter which we will be giving away a bit later. Go north from the village and take the steps/tunnel to the west near the rock maze and go through the cave here. Continue south from the exit and you will come to a screen with a tiny island out in the water with a single bush on it. Go and cut this down for a Secret Seashell (18/20) and then go east.

Here you will need to jump and slash at a bush (you'll fall down a pit but with the amount of health we have now that's not a big deal) and then jump again over to the other side. Go down the stairs and follow a simple path for another chamber where you can use magic powder to wake up the Mad Batter, who will upgrade the amount of bombs you can carry to 60.

Go back out now and continue three screens west to the ghost's house. You will need to jump over three pits with the boots and feather. Once you have visited the empty building the ghost will ask you to take him to his grave. Use Manbo's Mambo to be teleported to Tracy's house, then go left and south. You'll see his grave off on its own, fairly easy to spot.

Once here, he tells you there is something hidden in his house - it would not have been there if you had checked before. Inspect the grave again if you would like a picture. Go west through the northernmost section of the Mysterious Woods right until you get to the edge of the forest, then go north a screen. Hop across the pits and go into the house, talking to the man inside to get the Broom in exchange for the letter.

Return to the ghost's house by going through Mabe Village, stopping on the way to give your broom to Grandma Ulrira in exchange for a Fish Hook. Go down to the beach and east through some rocks by the treasure chest down at the right-hand side. Simply continue this direction to the house, then lift up the jar in the bottom-right for a Secret Seashell (19/20). Next go back to the large pond of deep water right by where we entered the third dungeon. In the north-west screen is another island with just a single shrub on it. Cut this down to find your last Secret Seashell (20/20).

Return to the seashell mansion to claim your reward - the Level 2 Sword. This will deal twice as much damage with the added bonus of firing a laser when you are at full health, just like in the original LoZ game. And yes, this power increase does stack on top of the red tunic, if you have it. Next go south again and take the path back to the Animal Village, but this isn't our destination this time around. From the tunnel exit go down, left, then continue on right down the steps and into the water and still keep going south.

Here you'll find a bridge, so dive down and head under it from the right side. You'll end up in a little side-scrolling area with a fisherman, use your feather to get into the boat. He'll take your fishing hook and you will get a Necklace. Go up twice and left to give it away to the mermaid who lost it, and you'll get the Scale. That seems a bit morbid doesn't it? Oh, well.

Go down a screen from here and you'll arrive at the next dungeon! Well, its entrance anyway. To get in we have to go over to the little niche on the left bordered by small rocks and dive down. Go right a screen and re-surface and now we're at the next dungeon.

Level Five: Catfish's Maw

Dungeon Map

From the entrance go left, as it's the only option open to us. Kill the enemies here if they're being a bother and carry on two more rooms to the left. Pick up the Compass here if you'd like it, then head down the stairs. Here you'll have to step on the stone weight and quickly jump to the next one as it is raised up and then jump again to the ledge on the left. Jump across four more weights in the next room and go up the ladder.

In this next room kill all the Stalfos then smash the crystals and move the two northern stone blocks toward each other so that you have a 2x2 square of blocks in the middle of the room. A Key (1) will fall down. There's nothing in the room to the left so backtrack through the tunnel and go one screen east. Open the way north (-1 key) then continue in the same direction until you come to a miniboss.

The master stalfos is a pain in the butt. Not so much to fight, just because you have to fight him four times in this dungeon. Hit him with a charged up sword shot and then he'll crumple into a pile, then put a bomb on him. Do it three times and he'll run away. Continue east. The chest in this next room is empty thanks to annoying skeleton dude, so head up.

Push the block out of the way and go left, then turn around and go back. Push the block right this time and go up. Jump to the right to get some bombs if you want them, but either way go back south. Hit the switch, push the block to the south and go through the door on the right. Defeat master stalfos for the second time, return to the room we came from and go up again.

Jump across the pit and go up another screen, then go left. There are two blocks here on their own (both behind jars) and you must push the lower of the two left to access the entire room. Tempt all the zols out of the floor and kill them to open the door and go north. Defeat master Stalfos yet again, and now we must backtrack.
Go all the way back to the room we got our key from, then go left and encounter master stalfos for the last time. He's the same as always, but this time he will actually die and leave you the Hook Shot. Go back through the tunnel and go east two rooms, sticking to the north, and use your hook shot to grab the chest and pull yourself over to it. It contains 200 Rupees. From here go back past the area where we fought master stalfos for the first time to the room with a block in the center and make your way to the left here.

Now that we have the hook shot make your way through this room properly, killing the enemies if they happen to be a bother and then go north. Get the four water tektites out of the way and then dive down into the pool. Follow the simple path here and then use your hookshot to get across on the other side and get the Nightmare's Key. Go back to the block room and go back up north.

Get to the southernmost tile amidst the pits, and use your hookshot on the chest above you. Open it to get 50 Rupees then continue to the east. Go across to another chest here to get a Key (1). Head back left now. From here you can go north and hook shot a bridge to get to another chest with 50 Rupees this time.

Back past the first master stalfos room go south twice, then left, north, left. In this room with a bunch of pits and blade traps, hook the stone block at the far left to get across easily. The lower door will close here so take the upper. Once again grab the chest to pull yourself over to it, and defeat the iron masks (you can use the hook shot to steal their face plates). Open the chest for a Key (2). Head back through the pit/blade room and use your hook shot to extend the bridge in the previous room. There's a fairy under the jar in the middle here.

In the room to the north head west and open the block (-1 key) and go left.

In this next room you will find a dual-miniboss, which are two gohma. Stay directly below them and follow them back and forth across the screen (one at a time, they will always stay on the upper or lower portions of the screen respectively). When they stop and stand still they are about to open their eye - this is your only chance to damage them. Use the bow or hookshot to hit them in the eye and then move away quickly, as they will also shoot a fireball at you. If they stop and shake then they will not open their eye and are going to charge at you, so try to move as far left or right as you can. They can go diagonally.

Make your way through the upper-right doorway and go down the stairs. Use your hookshot to grab the gargoyle heads along this tunnel to get through. When you emerge on the other side open up the block (-1 key) then use the hookshot to get across and go into the Boss's room.

The slime eel will stick his head out of one of the four holes in the walls and you must grab him with the hook shot and yank him out into the open to expose his heart. Simply strike it to damage him, then repeat the process until he's defeated. The only thing you really have to look out for is his tail which swings around in the middle of the room. Sometimes a fake slime eel will pop out but it will explode on its own after a second. It's a very tedious fight.

Our fifth instrument! That's another section done, I will see you next time on our way to number six.
